A Guide to Vacuum Cleaner Parts
The vacuum cleaner is a household item you will find in almost every home you visit. These machines work to remove dirt and dust from your home and provide a cleaner environment for you and your family. Some vacuums improve the quality of the air using sophisticated filtration systems. A good vacuum can make the home a safer and more comfortable place for everyone, especially those who are sensitive to particulate matter like dust and dander. Caring for your vacuum is important to ensure years of operation. There are various parts that keep your vacuum running smoothly. It is important to understand what these parts are and how to best maintain them.
The vacuum bag plays an important part in many vacuum cleaners on the electrical products market. There are some that do not require a bag but most do. Bags come in different sizes for different vacuums. When shopping for bags you will need the make and model of your vacuum cleaner. You should change the bag in your vacuum cleaner at least once a month. If you vacuum frequently or suffer from allergies you may need to change the bag more often. How to change the bag on your vacuum depends on what kind it is. Refer to the owner's manual for instructions on replacing the vacuum bag.
Some vacuum cleaners take filters. Modern cleaners that provide HEPA filtration will need to have their filters replaced on a regular basis. Another part of your vacuum that you may need to replace is the belt. Sometimes vacuum belts do break or wear out and when they do, it is necessary to replace them. Once again, you will need to refer to the instructional manual that came with your vacuum for instructions on how to change the belts. Belts are not one size fits all so make sure to have your make and model number handy when shopping.
You can purchase replacement vacuum cleaner parts at a number of places. Stores like Wal-Mart and K-Mart that sell vacuum cleaners often have a modest selection of parts and accessories. Another option is to order them directly from the manufacturer. Or, you can shop online. This is perhaps the easiest thing to do. There are lots of sites that specialize in vacuum cleaners, parts and accessories for many different types of vacuum cleaners.
